For the past two centuries, archaeologists have been searching for David and Solomon in the Iron Age, and not finding them. If you look for them in the Middle Bronze Age, there they are! Archaeologists were not looking deep enough because their bad chronology blinded them.
Chronology is actually important. If you get the chronology of the Ancient Near East correct, then you can discover that many of the characters in the Bible left records of themselves that are now sitting in museums but unrecognized.
