In my Chronological Framework of Ancient History papers I’ve developed a theory of who Nimrod was, and a surprisingly detailed history of his life. This relies upon Euhemeristic interpretations of myths and legends such as the Sumerian Epic, Enmerkar and the Lord of Arratta.
Recently Douglas Petrovich has published a new book identifying Nimrod as one of the Kings of the Akkadian Empire. Therefore in Petrovich’s view, Nimrod was not involved with the Tower of Babel. I beg to differ with him, but it’s an interesting book, nonetheless.
Christopher Eames of the Armstrong Institute of Biblical Archaeology just posted a surprisingly balanced article examining the question of whether Nimrod was part of the Babel project, or not. It’s a good read, and I recommend it.
Sedam Husain started digging in the desert before he was dethroned. The funny thing is the US military destroyed his research and memory-holed what he found.
